Questions, answered
Can I start with cash and direct payments and switch to card payments later?
Yes. Start your club as a cash and direct payments club: members send you an e-transfer in Canada or a Zelle payment in the US, and you record it. When you are ready, connect Stripe and your members can pay by card from that point on. Many clubs run both: the reminder carries your payment details and a card button.
Do my members need an account?
Not for cash and direct payments clubs. Members only ever see the reminder emails, and only if you turn them on. For card payments, they can pay from the email without logging in, or sign in to manage auto-pay and their plan.
Can I bring in my existing members?
Yes. Upload your spreadsheet with each member's name, email, plan and last payment date. Paid-up members land as paid with the right renewal date, so nobody gets a reminder they do not owe.
Can everyone be due on the 1st, or pay once for a season?
Yes, plan by plan. A monthly or yearly plan can renew on each member's own date, or have everyone due on the 1st of the month (January 1 for a yearly plan). A one-payment plan has a start and an end date: members pay once and are covered until it ends.
What do the reminders say?
What is due, when, and how to pay: where to send a direct payment, a pay by card button, or both, depending on how your club collects. Sent a week before renewal, with follow-ups if it stays unpaid.
Does it work for clubs in the United States?
Yes. Clubs in Canada charge in CAD and clubs in the US charge in USD. Card payments go through Stripe in either country. Reminders and tracking work the same.
What does a card payment really cost?
Two things. Stripe's processing fee, about 2.9% + 30¢ per payment, goes to Stripe and applies to every card payment at any club size. Our fee, 4.9% of the payment, applies only once your club has more than 25 members. Cash and direct payments cost nothing.
How fast do I get paid?
Card payments go through Stripe to your bank account, typically within 2 business days. Cash and direct payments never touch us at all.
Is member and payment data secure?
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Club Simply never sees or stores card numbers.
